Summer graduation 2024
It’s been all hands on deck for our Operations team this week as it has been summer Graduation week at St Andrews. Over 2,000 graduands attended one of the ten ceremonies being held at Younger Hall over the week. Following the ceremonies graduands and their proud families and friends made the short walk into the Quadrangle to the impressive marquee on Lower College Hall lawn to enjoy a garden party.
Over the course of the week the team were responsible for the set-up of each garden party and served over 18,000 sandwich triangles, 9,000 sweet treats which included mini fudge donuts and strawberry tarts from one of our famous local bakeries, Fisher and Donaldson.
A garden party wouldn’t be complete without raising a glass of fizz to all the graduands, and the team needed steady hands as they poured over 12,500 glasses of delicious sparkling wine. Or for those who fancied something slightly more traditional the team were also on hand to serve a selection of elderflower sparkling water, a coffee, or a nice cup of tea.
